Round ligament Pain/BH

Hi all,

Would like some help recognising the different between RLP and BH. I keep getting a tightening pain on my right hand side and it can come on when getting out of bed or just getting up from sitting a while. Moving around makes it stop and it's never too severe. It's happened quite a lot this week, I'm going into my third trimester this week, wk 27, so thinking maybe I'm having a growth spurt?? My partners mum says my bump looks quite low so she has me worried about all sorts of things. Baby is moving and kicking regularly but just trying to make out these pains. Any help is much appreciated, I thought I'd give my midwife a break from my silly questions and turn to you lovelies instead. Smile

Sounds like RLP to me - BH don’t hurt as such, more like your bump feeling tight/hard for a few seconds. If it’s painful when you move I’d say much more likely to be RLP

Ye RLP..
In my experience at this stage BH are an all over painless tightening of your stomach..

I had rlp from 4 weeks...as soon as i get pregnant i get tearing pains when i smeeze cough laugh or get up too quick...i was so worried with my last child...thought it was eptopic or something wrong...Ive had 3 csections...so worried that was an issue...But all was normal and healthy...I am 4 weeks pregnant now...and its started again...Very painful...but its all down to our muscles relaxing...and everything moving around i guess
