Just a curiosity more than anything; but does anyone know or have had experience with congenital cataracts?
My boyfriend had cataracts when he was born and had numerous surgeries as he grew up to fix it enough to rely on specialised glasses. It's never been an issue, but he has horrible memories of the surgeries.
I'm now 32 weeks pregnant with our son, I was just wondering if this form of cataracts are hereditary. It won't bother me either way if our son has them since my partner knows the procedures, I was just curious more than anything!
My midwife did note down the condition when my partner and I discussed family health and such, so they're aware of it luckily.
