Hi all,

My baby is due at the end of April and I'm wondering what to buy in terms of sleeping bag togs, blankets and nighttime clothing for the summer?

Anyone had a newborn in the summer before and could give any advice on this? :)

The advice I was given was to use a sleep suit and sleeping bag with no blankets.

Sleeping bags have a lower weight limit of around 8 1/2lb so worth checking baby will be over that before buying loads. The together you needs depends on the temperature in the babies room....if you look on the gro-bag website it give you an indication of the combinations you should use at various temperatures (obviously you can then buy cheaper sleeping bags wherever you want!).

If you use blankets, you should use the cellular ones which are more breathable, and make sure they're below the shoulders so there's no danger of them going over babies head.

There are also baby 'bundlers' you can use instead of sleeping bags, they are like giant nighties/long sleeve dresses, usually some elastic at the bottom and come down over their feet. They're more fitted than sleeping bags, and can just be lifted to do nappy changes.
