did any one find that their scan hurt? i was thinking about it and even though it was four weeks ago, the person that done my scan really dug the scanny thingy in and it left me with abdominal discomfort for the rest of the day?

Just curious

My notes have 'restricted visibility due to high BMI' which I found hilarious. I'm a size 16/18 but tall and had lost 2.5 stone already due to Hyperemesis so I wasn't as fat as I had been when I found out. She also had to push far in as my uterus is quite far back and baby refused to move to do the measurements. She did apologise at least. I didn't need a full bladder though so don't know if that made any difference.

20 week scan was a lot nicer as baby was bigger so it may not be as painful if at all painful.

And my 25 week scan (growth scan as he was measuring small) was even nicer. Barely needed to press down. You'll soon start to show with your bump, it might just be a few more weeks yet. I didn't have one til about 18 weeks.

Yes, with both ultra sound and Doppler but my daughter has a habit of hiding.

It's not a plumpness issue in my case.

I'd rather be poked and prodded to ensure my unborn child is okay than the sonographer be worried about hurting me.

My 12 wk scan tuned out to be 14 +3 wks it was so painful alot of prodding and pressing very hard went on as baby was hiding. I have my 20 wk scan tomorrow and slightly dreading it as I was left in agony and really bruised on my last 1, but super excited to see my little 1 again 🤰👶😍 x

I'm a size 16/18, my scan report said restricted views due to adiposity too. It's not them being nasty, it's just fact!

I had my 20 week scan today no pain at all this time. Everything was great with baby x
