SPD and sleeping positions

I seem to be going in the direction of developing SPD. I’m 23 weeks, and my pelvis has been dodgy from the beginning. I’m very impressed with how well it has held out so far, but I’ve had a few unpleasant awakenings where it’s been really difficult to get going because my pelvis has felt so bad.

This tends to be when I’ve fallen asleep and remained in the same position until waking, with a maternity cushion between my legs.

The maternity cushion was supposed to stop this from happening! Am I doing it wrong? Does anyone have a method of using the maternity pillow which actually keeps their pelvis happy until the morning?

(I’m hoping to add a mattress topper to my bed next week, to see if that helps, but I’m away from home this week, and have to make do.)
