She was beating a hole thru my side yesterday and for the weeks preceding. Today, nothing. Played music to her this morning, have danced, tapped, all the silly things we do to get her to respond on cue, but all is quiet. Maybe felt a slight adjustment, not sure.

Feeling scared. Thoughts?

I would ring the hospital and see if you can go and get it checked out.

sugar34plum · 05/07/2007 18:40

hi have you tried a bath mine loved it always woke them up. or gently pressing in to your belly like midwife does?

fruitful · 05/07/2007 18:41

Try lying down still for half an hour? Mine always went to sleep in there when I was moving, and woke up when I lay down.

You try eating a marsbar and wait for the sugar rush to hit him/her too.

But I'd prob phone the midwife now if it was me. A phonecall isn't going to hurt.

If you are really worried ring your maternity ward or go straight to your hospital and they'll hook you up to a monitor which will check your baby's heart rate. Sounds dramatic but it'll put your mind at rest. But remember babies have down days too, and she may just be resting today.

let us know everthing is ok x

trippleshot · 05/07/2007 18:43

Actually the sugar hit trick is really good, worked well for me.

saralou · 05/07/2007 18:43

get it checked... guaranteed to get baby's on the move (mine always did) phone antenatal.

onechild · 05/07/2007 18:44

dont worry too much she probably having a rest before her big day, have you tried really hot/cold drink? a bath always used to move my dd try relaxing you will soon be kicked!
If you are worried please call your local antenatal unit

JoMa · 05/07/2007 18:45

mine both did this, went in for monitoring, all fine

they were just very big babies and ran out of room

DivaSkyChick · 05/07/2007 18:47

So as it turns out, another "trick" is to post on mumsnet. She's moving now. Took, what? Five minutes?

Thanks so much for the fast responses, MN is such a great and caring community!

Im nearly 37 weeks and have noticed a slowing down of movements..he tends to squirm and wriggle rather than kick over the past week or so. I put it down to him running out of room
