Louise, im so sorry for your loss.

after a miscarriage your body takes a while to settle back down. while you are more fertile after you've been pg your cycles will be erratic especially since it took so long for your mc to complete. you also need to take into consideration that you will need to grieve and i have found that ttc straight away is really stressful and almost the equivalent of putting your head in the sand, which often means that it will hit you later on.

I conceived in the cycle following my 3rd m/c, but that time I was only 5 weeks pg when I m/cd, I'm currently 20 weeks pg.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Hi Louise,
the same thing happened to me in feb. I went for the 12 week scan & there was no heart beat. Had to go back for a D&C. There was an infection & bleeding after that. All very traumatic. I felt I just needed to get back to normal & then try again as soon as we could. It took a few months for my system to settle down & I had 1 proper period before trying again. My 12 week scan is on Tuesday. To answer your question, you could be, but everybody's body is different. It is easier to know when you may have ovulated when you have a period to count on from. I'd say try & wait for at least 1 period for your body to get to normal(some docs say 3)It's easier for dating as well. Good luck, try not to stress.

I also had a m/c (my 3rd) at 3 months and a d&c. It took another 3 months for my period to get back to normal - v frustrating time as all I wanted to do was try again. The advice I was given by the professionals was to wait 3 months before trying again. Although, I have to say that I would be tempted to try again sooner had I had a normal period. Hope things work out for you - I'm now pregnant with my 2nd, and know loads of people who are now pregnant following m/cs
