Eczema on face

I’ve developed an annoying and hideous patch of weepy eczema on my chin (currently 10+2). Is there anything safe on it I can use without needing to contact GP/MW?

I had eczema as a child but as an adult only the odd tiny bit now and again when run down. Usually use 1% hydrocortisone but not sure if this is ok?

I think you’re supposed to avoid hydrocortisone in the 1st trimester (can’t remember if it’s safe after that).

I’ve been using cicaplast baume but it’s nowhere near as good.

If it’s weepy though I would probably see the GP - could need antibiotics/ be impetigo or something?

I too have been avoiding my usual cream - I used sudocrem to dry it out and stop the burning! Might not work for everyone but worth a try?

Thanks @PatrickMerricksGoshawk
Its not infected, it was just really itchy, and I scatched and scatched it like an idiot and made it sore. Definitely eczema, its exactly the same as the flare ups I get under my watch normally-never had it on face before but have read it is quite common in pregnancy.

@russiandwarf
I have some sudacreme in the horse’s first aid kit so can slap some on tonight and see what it does-thanks

I’m seeing GP in a week or so, so can ask then if its still there.

Hi op, I'm a bit further along than you but I had terrible eczema at about 22 weeks which I tried everything behind the counter the pharmacy recommended but it just got worse. I ended up going to the gp after my 25 week midwife appointment who gave me hydrocortisone and it's working, they did also test for the liver condition that causes itchy skin, luckily negative but good to be checked so defo worth speaking to the gp!
