Suddenly feeling very nauseous at 4 weeks

I've been feeling a bit queasy for the past week and wasn't totally shocked to get an early BFP but today I've started feeling much, much worse. Is this normal? I thought the nausea would get gradually more sever, not go from annoying to unbearable over night. Should I be worried? I'm just over 4 weeks.

It can be gradual or sudden, no reason to worry at all.

With both of my pregnancies I didn't even any until 6 weeks and then bam!

No reason to worry, hope you feel better / it passes soon x

Thanks Falafel. This is my 3rd pregnancy and last time my nausea was absolutely dreadful but I'm sure it was a more gradual process. Thanks for reassurance.

I've thrown up and feel a bit better but feel I'm really neglecting DS. He's just been sat in front of CBeebies all day! I don't know how I'll be able to live with this for another 4 weeks!

That should be 10 weeks! Wishful thinking.

My nausea started really suddenly in the 6th week, felt fine before then. So I wouldn't worry. Some women get it at 4 weeks, others 6, some even don't get anything until week 8 or 10!

Honestly I'm praying this improves by the end of the first trimester, I'm barely eating anything except rich tea biscuits!

@Onlyinanemergency I feel for you! I had horrific sickness up until 5 months and then it slowly started to ease off. But I was waking up being sick before I even missed my period! So I wouldn't try to panic. The midwifes just kept telling me it means your hormones are really strong and means everything is doing what it should. (Although I didn't feel like that at the time). Rest and try take on fluids if you can! I found ice pops helped ease it a little x

Well my horrific nausea is all but gone now so I'm pretty sure this one isn't going to stick. Feeling very depressed today - who would have thought I'd be hoping for awful sickness again.

@Onlyinanemergency how are you now ❤️

It’s much more likely your sickness was nothing to do with your pregnancy.
