Hi there,
I am currently pregant and am looking to move to a nice community in the Lake District for a year or so, maybe longer. We will be renting and my husband will be working away a lot of the time and I am looking for a nice place near the sea with a nice community feel. I will not know anyone as I have been living away for a long time so I will be on my own with a new baby and wanting to make new friends etc.
Can anyone advise me where to start?
Many thanks

Hello!

I live in the Lake District and love it!
If you enjoy the outdoors then it's the perfect place.

I'm based in Kendal town, it's not near the sea but Lake Windermere is only a 10 minute drive away. Because the lake District is a nice area it can be pretty pricey to rent.

I'm currently expecting my first due in June. How about you?
Xx

I grew up in Keswick. Moved away now but choose somewhere that has not been turned into a walking and climbing tourist mecca. My poor older relatives lost vital shops in the town as more and more became walking and climbing shops! Cockermouth is nice. Just outside of all the madness. It’s still a lovely functioning small town

Hi Gossipgirl,

I ll be moving there in June, I am due in September. Are there any places to go and meet new people taking into consideration i'll have a new baby?and are there things to do with the baby? Yes, I love the outdoors.

I'll have a look at Kendal and Cockermouth now.

May thanks
