Take my mind off this horrible nausea?

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and within the last couple of days the nausea has hit me hard.

I am at home alone today and for the past couple of hours I have constantly felt on the verge of throwing up - without actually vomiting.

I can't seem to take my mind off it. I tried putting something on Netflix but I just can't focus on it.

The only thing I can seem to stomach is polo mints and small sips of water...

Should I try making myself vomit?
Would that even provide any relief?

I work as a nurse and am dreading going to work like this! Seeing my GP tomorrow for an unrelated issue but may have to bring this up too.

I'm not sure why I posted this, I sound pathetic! I guess I just wanted to talk to people who feel the same. 🤢

I'm a carer I'm on my 4th pregnancy and suffered hg during all pregnancys but this one has been worst with nausea i would rather be sick which has happened now lol.

I did have to go on sick leave quite early as i was having anti sickness meds in oral and iv form with anti acids and drips with fluids during all my pregnancys which did absoutley nothing i was still vomiting 6 times in 15 mins.

So no throwing up unfortunately does not help ease the sensation.

You will no also that forcing your self to vomit will not only not help but can cause more problems down the road ruptured esphogus etc ... you becoming dehydrated on drips and so on.

Speak to your dr about anti sickness small sips of water DO NOT EAT AFTER 6PM.

And try manage small bites of ginger nuts to help absorb it ... if it wants to come up it will.

@VioletGInPlease Thank you for the advice, I'm sorry that you've suffered so horribly :(

Will mention how I'm feeling to GP.

DH went to the shop after work today and brought me back a survival kit, ginger biscuits, ginger and peppermint teas etc, I'm so emotional I nearly cried on him!
