Early pregnancy after IVF. Keep me sane?

Anyone else in the same boat? I'm almost four weeks with second DC. 6 rounds of IVF in total, one live birth, a lost twin and a couple of chemicals. Feel like I'm going a bit batty to be honest. Forgotten how awful that slight moment of panic is everytime you go to the loo and desperately hope not to see blood

Hi @KatnissMellark, I’m currently 7+5 in my first pregnancy as a result of IVF (second cycle). Had a TFMR in 1999 and a miscarriage in 2007 following an infection. Up till yesterday I was doing really well; had a scan last Wednesday at 6+6 and saw 2 little ones with good heartbeats.

Yesterday afternoon/evening I had a small amount of red bleeding which freaked me out a bit. It’s stopped now and was’t much at all (less than a teaspoon) but, if it starts again I’m going to get checked over. Am also going to try and get a Clear a blue digital test to make sure I’m showing 3+. Hopefully that will reassure me for now!!

I’m on holiday at the moment (arrive in New Orleans this morning - it’s 6:21am here) and, while I know the ship’s medical centre could organise another scan for me, it’s not the easy process it would be at home. I had fun trying to organise one in Bermuda last week but succeeded thankfully and, as I say, all was well then!!

I thought the stress would go down after finishing the IVF and getting the positive scan last week. I have read that small amounts of bleeding can be normal between 6/7 weeks especially with twins. It’s all another worry isn’t it!!

Ah I'm so glad your scan went well. Yes I know bleeding can be more common in IVF pregnancies and especially with twins. When are you back from your holiday? I hope everything settles down so you can enjoy yourself

Thank you. We arrive back in the UK 3 weeks today (March 12th). Have been away for 2 weeks already and, apart from last nights bleeding, I’ve had a lovely relaxing holiday when the nausea and tiredness allow it!!
