Hi

I found out on friday that i have managed to become pregnant (5weeks) with the marina coil fitted.
Everything in the the right place but i was at risk of miscarriage if the coil was to be left in and having it removed was much lower risk than leaving it in.
I had it removed today and i have had some very light bleeding. They said if i have a miscarriage it will be with 24hrs. Is this normal after a coil is removed? I have no pain or cramps just the lighy spotting. Is this normal? Or im i on the start of a miscarriage? Anyone else had this experience?? Xx

It's absolutely normal to bleed when having a coil inserted and removed.

I don't think there's anyway for you to know if the bleeding is due to the coil removal or miscarriage though.

As hard as it will be, I think you'll need to play the waiting game and see how things pan out. Hopefully the bleeding will lessen soon and all will be ok.

I wasn't pregnant when I had my mirena removed but I did get some spotting mixture of brown and red it was fairly light and only lasted a day or so IIRC and then my period came as expected whe it was due.
