Possible MMC

I went to the Early Pregnancy Unit on Friday as I'd been experiencing spotting. The sonographer did an internal scan after not finding much externally. I should have been about 11 weeks.
She said I'm measuring at about 6 weeks. There was a fetal pole.
They seemed pretty certain the baby had stopped developing. There was no mention as to whether there was a heartbeat or not so I've no idea if they looked.
I have to go back next week to see if baby has grown, if not they pretty much think I've miscarried.
I was spotting with light stretchy almost cramps across the lower part of my stomach but it wasn't painful.
Bleeding has completely stopped and there is no pain whatsoever. It's all very confusing.
I haven't had any form of sexual contact since December 20th so I'm not sure if I can be 6 weeks. Absolutely heartbroken if I have had a mmc.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I've had a MMC and know how heartbreaking it is.

Sadly I think if you are sure if your dates then you probably need to prepare for the worst. As they didn't mention a heartbeat and they will definitely have looked for one, chances add they didn't detect one. However if you were to be only 6 weeks then they wouldn't always detect a heartbeat at that point so that's perhaps why they didn't mention it? Either way it does seem a bit remiss of them not to mention whether they could detect a heartbeat or not.

I hope that the scan shows something different though and once again I'm so sorry you're going through this x

Hello. I had a mmc in Sept/Oct. Had a light period at 4 weeks which continued as light brown spotting between then and 11 weeks when I eventually had ERPC. Didn't realise I was pregnant until 6 weeks, first scan was at 8 weeks due to a holiday and like you they queried dates (was straight off pill). None of my scans showed anything other than a sac so there was definitely no heartbeat. I think unfortunately if you are certain of your dates and they are queried it is probably not good news.

I really feel for you though, it's awful going through this. Everything online says "brown is fine" which is not the case at all. I also had little cramping while this was happening though did have occasional pain. I'm awaiting a scan tomorrow as I'm 7 weeks and just had my second bout of spotting today, so have that sinking feeling.
