Hypothyroidism in pregnancy

I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) while TTC no.1. We finally conceived and had a healthy pregnancy during which my medication did not have to be changed. Now in the 3rd tri with no.2, and my TSH and FT4 came back borderline. Actually, TSH was too high, but FT4 low normal. I am a bit worried. Anyone has had a similar experience?

Get them to up your meds. Tsh should be under 2.5 for trimester 1 and under 3 for trimesters 2 and 3.

Hi Porridgelove, you’ll find some great advice and support on the Facebook page Thyroid disease and pregnancy. You’ll need your exact results including TSH and T4 levels, high TSH and low T4 is hypothyroidism and needs treated with medication. I’m also hypothyroid and pregnant but managed with medication.
