Reduced Movement / Scan

I know there’s a few recent threads regarding this recent days but wondered what people’s experience was...

4th episode of reduce movement so I went in last night and they checked baby CTG happy with the trace results but kept me in overnight to try and increase the chance of being scanned today to check baby growth etc as movement is reduced a considerable amount.

Stayed in at the hospital and they did a trace again this morning and was ok - was told the scan wouldn’t be until tomorrow (Friday) so I explained the movement I could feel much better compared to yesterday and if possible, to let me go and I’ll come back tomorrow since the whole point in staying overnight is was to get the scan done asap since their happy with trace.

Anyway I got discharged which I’m happy about as it’s hubby bday today too, I’ve felt movement since being home but still isn’t as much as usual etc.

I do have a anterior placenta but haven hadn’t issues with feeling movement apart from the episodes.

They said to go back before tomorrow if I feel no diff etc but I’m like what’s the point of going back when they won’t do much since scan is due tomorrow and they already haven’t pushed it forewrd for today?

What’s your thoughts on this?

I have no advise, but only sympathy.
I am only 23 weeks and for two days I had reduced movement, but I know it's too early in my case. Hope the scan is ok.

How far along are you OP

Nicecupofcoco · 14/02/2019 21:17

I had similar op, but just to reassure you, there was no medical reason that movements were reduced. Did have to have a scan after each episode. Great that they are being thorough though. I had five episodes in the end, and had to have daily monitoring to get me to 39 weeks, then was induced. LO was in perfect health. So just one of those things I guess, but great your getting checked out and monitored.
How far along are you op?

I think if you go back they will do a trace. Yes it may be fine as last time, but if they're concerned Theo eek scan you sooner.

I look at it this way, if you go again because you're worried but everything is fine, then all you've lost is some time, if God forbid, you don't go and things aren't fine, then the consequences are catastrophic.

You have intuition for a reason, if it's telling you to go back and get checked again, don't try to rationalise yourself out of it xx

Baby has been more ‘normal’ active late tonight thank goodness! Feel more relaxed now 🥳

I’m just heading into 35 weeks .... so not all that long left 🙏🏾

That’s the thing isn’t it... you just never know what’s going on the inside without any other things cropping up like bleeding etc etc so we just have to rely on patterns and so forth.

It sounds like they’ll keep giving me scan every 2 weeks from what doc said yesterday but I suppose they’ll clarify what to do next tomorrow 🤔

Op if it doesn’t feel right please go and get checked. I know not ideal timing but they would prefer to see you now and reassure you.

We had a similar situation at 30 weeks, although our CTGs weren’t always reassuring. We managed to get to 34 weeks and they realised DD wasn’t growing so tried to induce ending in EMCS.

Hopefully this won’t be you! Have they given you steroids just in case?

snoopy18 · 15/02/2019 07:45

No they haven’t given any steroids or anything as they are happy with the growth of baby so far & CTG and otherwise healthy pregnancy - I had a growth scan I think 2 weeks ago or so last when they were monitoring fluid levels - fluid levels had dropped to a normal level again 🙏🏾

I’m due in to midwife this morning and scan is due this afternoon - happy with baby movement last night so hopefully be ok 🤞🏾
