24 weeks and not much for most of it due to an anterior placenta.

mrsed1987 · 14/02/2019 10:11

21 weeks also i think due to the above

I started feeling flutters when I was almost 18 weeks, but they were the kind that I wasn't 100% sure if it was baby or not. Then at 18 + 2, I felt movement that I was sure about, and husband put his hand on and felt a kick from the outside! That was a few days ago, and I haven't felt anything at all since though, so I think it was a one off for the moment that the baby was just in a good position for us to feel it! But it's completely normal not to feel until after 20 weeks, some people say even not until 24 weeks did they feel anything. I'm impatient too so always sitting there waiting for movements and trying to guess was that movement or just wind?!

lifechanginglemoncake · 14/02/2019 10:35

The odd tiny flutter which I wasn't 100% sure was baby from 16/17 weeks but that wasn't every day. Almost immediately after the 20 week scan I started to feel more definite movements every day.

17 weeks.

Habbs · 14/02/2019 10:54

Thanks all, hopefully I'll start to feel something soon. Haven't been informed that my placenta is anterior so assuming it isn't but will double check with midwife

Habbs how many weeks are you?

Just thought I’d mention I wasn’t told I had an anterior placenta verbally but it was written in my notes. I didn’t know that was even a thing so even if I had seen it I wouldn’t have realised! It was only when I mentioned how I’d not felt anything to the midwife that I found out.

Capybaras · 14/02/2019 11:14

From 16 weeks. I'm 19 weeks now and since 18 weeks been feeling the baby quite regularly - lots of little flutters and the occasional tap. Not strong enough to feel from the outside yet! But I think for a first baby mine has been quite early and it's normal to not feel anything up to 24 weeks. Will depend where the placenta is too!

Habbs · 14/02/2019 11:15

@TildaTurnip 17 weeks. I was last scanned at 16 weeks and it wasn't mentioned then, I've got a midwife appointment in a few days and my 20 week scan soon so I'll find out then if not I imagine, but I'll check my notes! Thanks

20 weeks with both pregnancies

BillyAndTheSillies · 14/02/2019 11:17

13 weeks with DC1. Unmistakable and went against everything I thought because I was a size 16 and thought it might take longer to feel the movements.
Currently 5+4 with number 2.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 14/02/2019 11:30

I had a posterior placenta with my first and felt her at around 17/18 weeks for the first time. It was a wriggle rather than a kick. Very sporadic from then until around 24 weeks though.

Cremeeggsareforever · 14/02/2019 13:51

I started feeling movements at about 13/14 weeks, and real kicks at about 21 weeks.

pumpastrotter · 14/02/2019 13:54

I swear I felt a 'swooshing' around 10 weeks but probably gas Grin

17ish weeks for noticeable movement, around 20 for someone else to feel.

curlywurlywooo · 14/02/2019 14:03

I felt a tapping sensation at 13 weeks...like someone inside my uterus was had drummed their fingers then...nothing for ages and then last night (at 16+1) I felt something like a kernel of popcorn popping. It was baba! I pressed my fingers onto my tummy where the top of my knickers are and waited, and felt the baby move - either a kick or push against the uterus. I then got DH to put his fingers were mine were, and then I felt baby move and he felt it against his fingers! I felt it this morning too.
Everyone’s different, midwife listened to heartbeat yesterday and the baby kept moving about!Smile

Triskaidekaphilia · 16/02/2019 08:19

I'm 17 weeks as well and don't think I've felt anything. I did get a weird pop under my belly button yesterday night that might have been something but won't really know unless it happens again.
