Feeling baby move?

Hi I'm currently 15 weeks and I've had many questions off friends/ family asking if I've left baby move or any 'flutters' yet. I haven't felt a thing, is this normal and when did you feel anything for the first time?

Ignore them or you'll worry yourself to death, I didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks and now I can't sleep she wriggles so much!

Tasneem77 · 14/02/2019 01:27

Im 23 weeks now and have just started to feel regular movements now. Dont worry.

littleleeleanne · 14/02/2019 01:28

I was much later in my pregnancy before I felt anything especially with my first. I wouldn't worry.

Rtmhwales · 14/02/2019 01:43

I didn't feel anything until after 23 weeks, have a healthy happy DS now. Once I felt him, he never stopped moving so enjoy the quiet now!

I didnt feel anything with my first child until 29 weeks and i am pregnant again and still cant feel anything at 23 weeks, sometimes if i push my hand a little on the top of my tummy i can feel ... something but its more just weird movements.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 14/02/2019 07:51

I'm 19+2 and haven't felt anything. Spoke to a midwife yesterday and she said it's normal to not feel anything till 24 weeks

Melamine · 14/02/2019 07:52

19 weeks for me!

CobaltRose96 · 14/02/2019 09:24

I didn't feel anything until I was 24/25 weeks. I have an anterior placenta. I'm now 36 weeks and feel her move all the time. Smile

Iswallowtoothpaste · 14/02/2019 09:43

Oh tell them to shut it!! I spent 3 weeks from 17-20 weeks trying to work out whether it was baby or a big fart brewing. And this is my second! I do have an anterior placenta though.

I’m now 24+2 and still have a hard time working it out sometimes!

@CobaltRose96, I can’t believe you’re 36 weeks! Where did that time go??

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/02/2019 09:48

Same as cobalt, it was a couple of weeks after my 20 week scan I felt something most days, often a gentle swoosh rather than a kick, also have an anterior placenta and couldn’t imagine it when people said it was keeping them at night. 36 weeks here too and it’s all the time! Including keeping me awake at night Grin

CobaltRose96 · 14/02/2019 10:38

@Iswallowtoothpaste, I know! It's gone so quick! I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday Shock I'm on maternity leave now, so I suspect the last few weeks will either go very quick or veeeerrry slow Grin

Iswallowtoothpaste · 14/02/2019 11:28

@CobaltRose96 I’m so happy for you! I know what a worrying time you’ve had. Pregnancy after MC sucks but you’re almost there now!

Buddytheelf85 · 14/02/2019 19:53

I’m glad to read this thread. I’m 17+3 and haven’t felt anything discernible. I’ve felt some odd sensations but nothing I could definitely say ‘that’s baby and not gas!’ But my friend told me she started feeling movements about 14 weeks which obviously set me off worrying!!

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 14/02/2019 20:22

I was 24 weeks when I first felt DS, I’m pregnant with DC2 atm and first felt movements at 16 weeks.

Chocolateheaven123 · 14/02/2019 20:27

With my first, I felt the odd flutter at 19 weeks. Think it was 23/24 weeks before I felt a distinct movement and actually realised it was the baby. Had felt a couple before that but thought it was gas Grin

This time, I felt proper kicks from about 20 weeks.

Please don't worry, 15 weeks is very early to feel movement, especially for your first.
