Have looked at the Medela Swing and MAM 2-in-1, can anyone recommend either or any alternatives? Thanks!

I have the Lansinoh electric pump and it's been great. It's a fair bit cheaper than some too but really good.

Mam one is brilliant!

I love my medela swing.

Ardo calypso double is brill! It’s more reasonably priced than medalla and this one has been loaned to two ppl and still going strong !

I like the Ardo calypso duo. If you are going to be seriously pumping though the medala symphony is excellent. It’s a hospital grade one and you can rent it from the NCT or directly from Medela.

Is it for occasional use? Pumping at work? Exclusively pumping for a neonate? That will change what you need.

RockCrushesLizard · 13/02/2019 12:02

The medela is expensive for what it is - there are a number of Ardo or Spectra models in that price bracket that are more effective. I've known lots of mums who liked them better.

I have a Bellababy one from Amazon. It was £35 and is absolutely fantastic. I had a medela with my previous DC and it’s equally good imo.

Fwiw my pump is primarily for work usage and occasionally being out and I bought an Ardo Calypso and ended up selling it and going back to my Medela Swing. The Calypso was too big and heavy to schlep to work and I liked the way the Medela triggered letdown by mimicking a baby's suck pattern. But if you were pumping at home earlier in the game the Calypso might be better. So there are a lot of factors.

I loved my medela swing. Went for that one after multiple recommendations. Only other pump I tried was a tommee tippee manual one which was awful. I got more out hand expressing straight into a bottle.

miki123 · 13/02/2019 13:35

I swore by my Medela Freestyle double pump however they are pricey...though you might be able to find a good bargain on eBay.

firsttimemumma123 · 13/02/2019 14:10

Although it is for occasional use I am not overly fussed on price, I'm expecting to pay up to £150ish for a decent pump. Will look into the Ardo Calypso as well, never heard of it!

One of my best friends got an Elvie and it is bloody amazing. Ordered mine as soon as I saw how easy it was for her to use!
