Funny rattling sensation/vibration in chest??

I’m 16 weeks. I’ve noticed the last few days, when I breathe in and out I have a subtle vibrating/tingling/rattling feeling in my chest, sortof in middle where diaphragm is! I thought maybe I was coming down with a cold but when I breathe with mouth open my breathing and lungs sound clear and there’s no cough and nothing being produced/coughed up!
DH says it’s probably everything getting slowly squished upwards and the hormones making all my soft tissues looser. Has anyone else had this?

Hi sorry to post so long after but Im 17 weeks now and experiencing the same when I inhale deeply. It is rather worrying. Doctors wont do a chest x ray to rule out lungs. Did you ever find out what it was? Did it resolve? Thanks!

I had this the other night, I did some googling and I've put it down to "diaphragm spasm". I wasn't in any pain or uncomfortable so doubt it's anything harmful but still worth a mention to midwife when I next speak to them x

Im 22 week and have had the same thing a few times in recent weeks. No pain just odd fluttering. I also couldn't find any info online, and just put it down to hormone. I plan to mention it to my midwife when I next speak to her but haven't done anything immediate about it.

Does it tend to happen at night with either of you? When inhaling? Or is it random? Ive spoken to doctors and they wonder if it is something to do with reflux. They wont so a chest xray as Im pregnant x

DPSawMyUsername · 28/05/2020 12:07

@Cath0000 It's mainly when I'm still and settling. There's a lot going on with our bodies so i'm personally not worrying about it. Enough to deal with lol x

Cath0000 · 28/05/2020 12:32

Thats good it isnt bothering you. It wouldnt bother me so much but it is every night and cant work out if it is my lungs or something else. Only happens when inhaling amd ony once or twice. Weird!x

Hi girls did anyone fine out what it was? I have the same its all the time when I lie down for when I'm relaxing on the couch, it's like a vibration inbetween my breasts espically the left one when I inhale,.I wonder if it's diaphragm spasms

how did everyone get on? my better half has been experiencing these and they have continued now that the wee bundle of surprise has arrived!

ViennaVogue · 07/03/2024 19:24

Heyy. I had the same whilst pregnant too and they’ve continued. Did anybody find out what these are? Really worried. Thanks xxx

Cath0000 · 09/03/2024 10:19

Mine stopped eventually but it took a while! How far pp are you? These are happenung again now Im pregnant. So strange

ViennaVogue · 11/03/2024 21:57

I’m 5 month PP now. When did it stop for you? It’s not all the time either. Some days it won’t be there at all. It’s so strange! I’m like is it my lungs, pleural rub, my ribs?! Maybe now you’re pregnant again, ask a consultant? You’ll have to keep me updated xxx
