Period after miscarriage

Hi,

Wondering if someone can relate and share their experiences. So I had a miscarriage on the 29th of jan at 5 weeks pregnant. I was devestated and to this day I don’t trust what my body does. It was my first pregnancy and miscarriage. I had an ultrasound and they told me that nothing on that indicated I had any problems. I know they say that this miscarriage wasn’t my fault but I feel like my body has betrayed me. I had bleeding until 5th of feb (about 8 days). Started light then became slightly heavier and then just stopped. My last hcg test was 37 and that was last Thursday. The EPU told me to do a pregnancy test on Sunday which I did and it came back negative. I had a week of no bleeding and clear discharge, pretty much like everything was back to normal until today where I started to bleed again and I even got a couple of pimples too. The whole thing is very much like a period. The colour is bright and it’s just like I would usually have just slightly heavier. I called the EPU again and they told me that I was most likely having a period as the pregnancy test was negative. I asked if it was possible to have a period 2 week after a miscarrisge and a week after the bleeding had stopped and she said yes. That I most likely hadn’t ovulated but it was my body’s way of trying to correct itself and start a new cycle. Does this sound plausible? Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,

Xxx

It's definitely possible to get your period this soon after a miscarriage. After both of mine it's taken about a month after the first day of bleeding to get my period.

Be kind to yourself and I hope you get your baby soon. 💐

Thanks for responding and sorry to hear that you have had 2. I guess I’m thrown off by the fact that if I miscarried on 29th then it’s only been 2 weeks and I just didn’t think that was classed as normal. They said it wouldn’t be remnants of the miscarriage because the pregnancy test was negative. Thanks for your kind words xx
