Ok - I thought they were not necessary and I'd just buy bigger ones from Tesco but now that they are rolling, I think I do need the real things! where can you recommend that I get them from? Many thanks!!

Firstly congrats MrsMcJnr, didn't know you were pg but glad that you are! I must not have had as much time for lurking as I used to.

I got mine from Mothercare this time round but you can also get them from places like John lewis or online from Blooming Marvellous or Jojo Maman. I am ashamed to say I wore them for ages after giving birth as well as they were just that bit more comfy than normal ones - I wore them till the elastic was hanging out!!!

I used to have under the bump ones form Mothrcare and they got quite uncomfortable. The huge granny style ones are the most comfy

MrsBadger · 04/07/2007 17:35

have I missed a new-undies buying opportunity here?
7 weeks to go and I am still wearing my normal ones...

ELR · 04/07/2007 17:36

asda do some nice bikini style knickers in packs of 5 for £5 i am size 12/14 but i bought 16/18 and they were fine sat nicely under bump

dal21 · 04/07/2007 18:35

Nope MrsB, I am with you. still in my normal knickers - still find my thongs dead comfy! if i do have to move to another style, will go for the emma jane maternity thongs. Now bra's on the other hand - was out of all my normal stuff straightaway - my boobs exploded! Not complaining tho!

honeyapple · 04/07/2007 19:50

Must say that I have never bought specific maternity knickers... just get a size bigger normal ones. I bought a load of mini short style knickers (under bump) from La Senza recently which are super comfy... Goodness me... it's bad enough trying to get DP into a little bedroom action without strutting about in BIG GRANNY PANTS! Never!

Bodkin · 04/07/2007 21:16

What's wrong with BIG GRANNY PANTS Honey?! When you get to 38 weeks they look positively dinky!

pinkspottywellies · 04/07/2007 21:21

I bought the Mothercare thongs (5 for £10) but they looked rather similar to my Tesco ones (5 for £2.50) so I held them together and lo and behold - exactly the same knickers!

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 21:23

I have to say I was rather into Mothercare paper knick-knocks when I was pregnant - found them very comfy, in fact, I went on wearing them for sometime after cos they just felt so good and light and clean furiously

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 21:23

thats me blushing furiously by the way!

ELR · 04/07/2007 21:27

i bought some of those paper ones from mothercare could not get them onto my fat arse, this was just after giving birth so had to put my old ones back on until dh could bring in some new ones

NattyThomasandEllen · 05/07/2007 13:36

fannyannie · 05/07/2007 13:38

for DS2 and DS3's pg's I just bought Matalan Granny Knickers a few sizes too big - SOOOOO comfortable and dead cheap too.

Iklboo · 05/07/2007 13:49

MrsMcJnr · 05/07/2007 17:12

Thank you all you gave me lots of ideas and some giggles too! Nice to see so many of you that I haven't seen for a while too!
