Hello. So my mucous plug definitely went on Sunday - it was very clear looking jelly blob and actually slid of the tissue onto the bathroom floor like a jellyfish! Yesterday I had green snotty discharge and midwife agreed she would come to do a swab this afternoon. No more since until this morning when I felt a gush in bed and thought my waters were going. It filled a panty liner (wasn't wearing a big pad) and was green/yellow tinged. About 30 mins later went to toilet and had caught straw coloured leakage. I telephoned midwife and I'm currently wearing a bigger pad and monitoring for an hour before calling back. I dont really have any pain. Im 40+6 today. Just wanted to hear other's real life experiences of similar. I was hoping for a home birth and to avoid induction.

Hi congratulations! I started losing my mucous plug at 40+3 after waking up with mild contractions that morning. My water hadn't broken but I had contractions until 40+6 getting increasingly painful. Had a sweep that day and DD was born at 41 weeks. Looking back, I only wish I had been more active in those 3-4 days as I think everything slowed down because I was lying in bed with the pain! Should have had DH take me out walking.

How are you feeling?

I don't want to scare you but if I were you I'd think about nipping to the hospital one of the things they tell you to go in for is yellow or green discharge as it could be a serious infection. Fingers crossed for a smooth delivery

The midwife is coming this afternoon. I've saved her lots of yucky samples!

I don't really have any pain. I'm ready to have my baby now but want to avoid a sweep til later.
