No period after D&C missed misscarrage ?

Sadly I lost my pregnancy on New Year’s Eve.. at the 12 week scan we were told the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. I opted to have the D&C the very next day on the 1st of January. The bleeding took about a week to stop and carried on spotting for at least another week... so around the 14th of Jan. No signs yet of AF, I’ve read online that 4-8 weeks is ‘normal’ but is this 4 weeks from the day of the D&C or when the bleeding stopped? I’m just a little concerned as I’ve read about scaring and infection?
Just wondering how long I should wait before going to see a doctor?

Hello lovely, so sorry to hear of your loss. My circumstances were exactly the same as yours apart from I was closer to the 9 week mark but also only found out at 12 week scan - that was last July. I also opted for D&C and got my period 5 weeks after procedure. I didn’t get much bleeding at all after mine though only spotting - everyone’s different and some women I know bled heavy. If I were you at the moment I would only go to the doctors if you were in pain, passing clots and bleeding extremely heavy. A friend of mine had retained products after the procedure and she certainly knew about it as she was very ill and had to be rushed in. Of course this I extremely uncommon. Just relax as much as you can and let your body recover 💐 You will be ok I promise. I know exactly how you feel. Time is a healer. Wishing you a speedy road to recovery ❤️
