Struggling at work during early pregnancy

Hi all,

Recently found out that i'm pregnant unexpectedly. I'm only 21 and not in a position to keep it so I've decided a termination is the best option for me. I think I'm currently about 4.5 weeks, and the appointment for the abortion is not for another 2 weeks. I am suffering from extreme fatigue and a constant nauseous feeling. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations about how to deal with this? I'm finding myself unable to concentrate and almost falling asleep at my desk several times a day. I'm unsure if I'm comfortable with telling work due to getting a termination but if I feel like this everyday I don't know how I'll make it through the next two weeks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you really can't manage, could you get signed off and just get the doctor to put the reason as 'fatigue'? Bear in mind you have more protection if the absence is pregnancy related, in terms of whether they can take action against you for excessive sickness but I understand if you don't want to disclose it.

Things that helped me:

-snack regularly if you can
-eat beige food! Crisps, plain jacket potatoes, crackers.
-original lucozade
-fruit pastilles
-ice lollies
-avoid tea and coffee

It will most likely continue/get worse over the next couple of weeks, so you may want to get signed off work next week if you can.

Sleep when you can.
Eat little and often
Caffeine

I think you might need to let your boss know. You will need support after x
