Hi all

I took a pregnancy test early and found out today that I am about 3 - 4 weeks pregnant (number of weeks since my last period).

I have been suffering from the flue with all the usual aches and pains and a temperature of around 39 degrees Celsius.

Today I spoke to my doctor who advised that I take paracetamol to keep the fever down. However the whole of yesterday I may have had the high fever too (didn't check exact temp as it was before I took the pregnancy test).

I have been googling things and there's lots of scary articles about how a high fever in early pregnancy can cause birth defects, cleft palette, neural tube defects etc..

This has all made me feel anxious and I wondered if anyone else has been in the same situation and had a high fever in early pregnancy and weren't taking any meds initially to bring fever down? I'm just worried that I will have harmed my baby unknowingly! Thanks all
