Snuzpod v Moses basket

Hi all, would anyone recommend a snuzpod over a Moses basket or vice versa? Like the idea of the pod but wondering if it’s worth it. Any help would be appreciated x

For me the snuzpod was a lifesaver as it meant when she wanted to be near me or wouldn’t settle I could have my hand on her without having her in the same bed.

DD lasted a few weeks.in her Moses basket. I also found getting her in and out when in bed having had a C-section a right faff.

We've got a snüzpod for this time round (not had chance to use it yet. But just a few days to go) and it's tonns bigger so no denying it will last sooooooo much longer. Also with it being head height and with a side down I'm expecting it to be tons easier to use post surgery

We used a Snuzpod but after we bought it the Tutti Bambini Cozee went on sale and I think it's a better product. It can be folded up and transported very easily so you can use it as a travel cot. Would have been very handy. Also has a tilt option (although I think the new Snuzpod has that too, ours doesn't).

Either way I think a bedside crib is better than a Moses basket because it's lovely having them next to you and it lasts longer. Baby will outgrow the Moses basket before 6 months and then you'll have to decide whether to squeeze the cot into your bedroom or sleep in baby's room or put baby in own room alone before 6 months.

Yup the new snüzpod 3 has a reflux tilt bar. 👍

Still not foldable/portable though
Although made of real wood so good quality and environmentally friendly
So my DH would probably still vote Snuzpod over Cozee Grin

I have a question about the Snuzpod and Tutti Bambini - hope it's OK to jump in with it. Are they safe as I wonder about the side that isn't mesh. What are the chances of baby rolling into that side? Thanks!

The snuzpod is lovely but my DS hated it as a cosleeper, and it didn't really rock on our carpet.

Having said that, despite him preferring the moses basket, he had grown out of it by about 10 weeks, so he didn't have any choice but to go into the snuzpod!

Absolutely get a snuzpod or similar instead of a moses basket. My first lasted 7 weeks in a moses basket (not even a huge baby just long) and my second 7 months in the next to me cot. It was so much better and lovey just being able to roll over and pick her up to feed.

NameChange30 · 10/02/2019 21:29

It looks like the snuzpod3 (latest model) has mesh on both sides

Don't know about the Cozee

Agree re the tutti bambini. I had that upstairs and the moses downstairs. The moses didn't last long but they are quite cheap to buy.

I loved my snuzpod. We didn’t bother buying a Moses basket and specifically chose the snuzpod over other bedside cribs available at the time because the bassinet part was able to be lifted off the stand. In the first couple of weeks we used to bring it downstairs for day naps but we stopped bothering as my DD would only nap while being held. Having her so close made night feeds much easier as I BF so didn’t even have to get out of bed. She was in it till 6 months when she moved into her own room.

NameChange30 · 10/02/2019 22:35

We carried the top of the Snuzpod downstairs for daytime naps for a few day, but it was heavy and too much of a faff so we stopped doing that pretty quickly. Snuzpod stayed by the bed and we used the pram carrycot for naps downstairs.

We've got the BabyLo side sleeper (basically, Smyths Toys equivalent of the Next2Me cot). We had looked at getting the SnuzPod3 for ages but this one was half the price.

Glad we went for it now as DD will only sleep in her Moses basket at the minute, which we put inside the side sleeper, so I won't feel like I've wasted so much money if she's in her basket for another month or so.

Thank you so much everyone, definitely cemented what I thought. We’ve been given a Moses basket by a friend which will live downstairs at the beginning and can be used just in case we need to upstairs too but both myself and my husband are tall and they don’t look very long so was looking for an alternative x
