Flu and worried

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and just spent the past few days in hospital with my two year old who was hospitalized with flu. Swabs confirmed it is the flu. She's finally turned a corner and was discharged two days ago but I've since come down with the same and feel absolutely awful, got every symptom of flu going. Rang 111 this morning and they advised rest, fluids, small amounts of nutritious food (which I can't stomach) and paracetamol but since then my temp is hitting 40C even with 1000mg paracetamol every four hours. The NHS website frightened me and I'm now freaking out that I'm 'cooking' the baby or doing some serious damage. Sorry if I sound ridiculous but I'm freaking out. Anyone has bad flu and all been ok in the end?

If you're that bad, I'd get yourself back to hospital, flu can be serious in pregnant women - for you as well as the baby. Plus have you been taking paracetamol 6 times a day (every 4 hours?) That's more than recommended, so might also need checking.

My hospital notes say to contact hospital straight away with a high temp so I would call triage and see what they say. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. Yes, I've called 111 back again and now waiting for a doctor to speak to me soon. Panicking!
