Please someone put my mind at ease here as doctor google is driving me potty!

I cooked some of those frozen breaded fish fillet things for dinner tonight as I was totally not in a cooking mood, in the oven for recommended time and was well preheated. However got half way into the fish fillet and the middle was undercooked! Not raw as it was still warm but definitely looked undercooked!
I'm freaking out I'm going to get food poisoning and am 34 weeks pregnant.
I don't think I ate any raw bits but was eating it with a cold sale so worried I might have not noticed :(

I think they're normally already cooked and you're just warming them through, try not to worry op I know easier said than done

Frozen? I thought you were all good with frozen fish as all the bad stuff was killed by freezing. I'm pretty sure when I was pregnant it was OK to eat sushi if it had been frozen.

You'll be fine.
The chances of getting a nasty are miniscule.

I found the book "expecting better" very reassuring in this regard.

It's a one off and you never are it all I'm sure everything is ok if it plays on your mind that much you can call midwife for re assurance...

The freezing process will have killed anything unpleasant. As view says, that’s why you can have sushi in pregnancy as long as the fish has been previously frozen (which it must by law in the EU). You have nothing to worry about.

I’m pretty sure with stuff like frozen breaded fish, Birdseye breaded chicken etc the meat has already been cooked prior to it being frozen, I am sure you’ll be fine.

You can't have sushi but the problem is the rice not the fish

welshweasel · 08/02/2019 12:37

Sushi is completely fine in pregnancy!

NHS guidance on sushi in pregnancy.

I feel like I've been well and truly tricked. Been my pregnancy craving and not had I for 2.5 pregnancies so far Shock

YummyMummy2019 · 08/02/2019 17:53

I didn't eat sushi though
Sushi is treated a certain way and is certain types of fish

Don't think a Birdseye cod fillet gets the same treatment 🤣
