Had scan yesterday am 12+6 all was well. (Had spotting earlier in pregnancy and was scanned then to make sure everything was okay.) After I came back from the hospital yesterday I had clear dishcharge with bloody streaks for a few hours and then again once this morning, and period type pains, but i've had nothing since. Should I still get it checked out, or not bother as scan was fine earlier that day?

I feel totally paranoid and don't know what to do, need some sensible advice please!

YES I had a suspected miscarriage at 16 weeks, I had always thought that once you got past 12 weeks all would be ok, but was told that is not always the case.
Ring your Midwife in the am ... please.

Hi Angel- probably nothing but all bleeding should be checked out. Give your MW a quick buzz and see what she says.
I'm sure everything is fine but thats what they are there for.

Hope all is well angelcake, a similar thing happened to me after my 8 week scan - I saw the HB and all seemed fine and then I spotted that night. I freaked. It was also coincidentally the day my AF would have been due if I wasn't pg and apparently spotting can happen then - were you anywhere near an AF date? trusting this wasn't an internal scan? do you have an Early Pregnacy Unit near you that you could call to disucss is? until 14 weeks they can still help you.

Hi MrsMcJnr good to see you are back!

It was just a normal scan that I had, and yes come to think of it my period would be due around this time. I rang another midwife and I am going to be checked tomorrow morning, and have an internal(ugh) to check for any infection as I had traces of protien found in urine on two occasions. So hoping it will all go smoothly after this.

Hope all went well today Angelcake let us know

angelcake99 · 06/07/2007 03:30

saw consultant today, she didn't seem worried about bleeding, she did some swabs for infection but said she thought it unlikely that it was, and that the neck of my womb looked sore? But not to worry, so all in all not sure but she said only to get back in contact if bleeding became heavy and very painful. So think its okay, they don't give alot away some of these consultants but she was very nice! So i'm just going to see what happens from now
