Weird dreams?

Anyone else have dreams that they can remember from every night?
I keep having really weird ones that I can remember the next day. So far they consist or me looking after my baby which has been a girl and boy at some point. But they're also about reptiles and snakes 🤔
One dream a plane crashed and I had to hunt snakes to stay alive, last night I was looking after my 'triplets' 😮 and there was lizards living freely around my house

I've been having the odd weird one throughout my pregnancy but have had a particularly few dodgy ones this week! Do they intensify the further along in pregnancy you get maybe? Sunday night i dreamt Harry and Marv from home alone were sitting on the edge of my bed nattering away to me for hours and in the same night also dreamt i gave birth several different times in different ways. Monday night i dreamt some kind of strange black hooded/cloaked creature thing was after me and because i kept running away it was killing off my friends and family so i went to my mums to tell her goodbye before i let it kill me! Pregnancy really is very strange lol.

PhoebeBear · 06/02/2019 11:41

@Ccec omg the black hooded creature sounds terrifying!
I do believe the my intensity if further along you get- I'm 14 weeks which I know is still early stages but recently they've got more strange then they did in the beginning x

Ive been having weird dreams, sometimes I remember them in detail, other times I dont.

But last night I had a bit of a naughty dream where I was at a party and I got it on with Calum Best?! WTF did that come from lol!

Springmummy19 · 06/02/2019 11:58

lol yes! mine have been more nighmares. I have had a relative come and take my baby and just say they are keeping it. I have had dreams where I have been robbed. my baby has been born but it is a a toddler rather than a baby, I have had dreams where I have stabbed someone one, fallen in love with a famous people... just all sorts

Ccec · 06/02/2019 12:18

@PhoebeBear It really was! But to be fair i'm more petrified of snakes/spiders etc so your dream would have been scarier for me. I'm 30 weeks now but had odd dreams since the early pregnancy days, a couple of times months ago i had that sleep paralysis which is horrible, so i can deal with the dreams over that!

I am a really active dreamer! I find it strange when people don't remember theirs. A recurring theme for me is that I'm sneaking in/out/around buildings, mostly flats or houses with a lot of corridors, doorways and balconies. I'm usually trespassing though I'm not there to steal anything. Sometimes it's that I'm trying to escape undetected. I literally never watch films or read books with similar setups, and I've never been in such a situation in real life so I've no idea where I'm getting the inspiration from!

Other recurring themes include my teeth falling out, and tidal waves.

My mum and I have this weird connection. She's also one for very vivid dreams and time and again her dream will be connected with something I've watched/read/talked about with someone else that day. I might see an advert online for hot air balloon rides for example, and she'll then dream about being on one.

I have vivid dreams a reoccurring one is the door to the room I’m in being bricked up as I watch. A couple of times I’ve actually sleep walked and run to the door and woken up on the landing. It didn’t end well one night staying in a holiday cottage I had the dream, got up to run and found there was a wall where my bedroom door at home would have been, I can remember touching the wall, finding it was solid and thinking I was too late to get out and absolutely screaming the place down.

RomanyRoots · 06/02/2019 22:29

I had a recurring dream where I'd wake up sweating, not scary but uneasy.
I had it for several years, but only post dc.
A few years ago I found out that the scene I dreamed about happened in my childhood, but I'd never remembered it.
I read about it in some professional healthcare notes.

I’ve certainly had some bizarre dreams at night too. One night several months ago I was dreaming that DS could actually walk independently and DD was average height. I wake up disappointed and confused for having such dreams. I used to keep a dream diary. I’ve also considered having a professional dream analysis done.
I think it’s the guilt talking mainly here. After I visited a potential school for DS and DD I had a really strange dream.
My subconscious mind is so strange.
Dreams are funny things. Please tell me I’m not the only mom with bizarre dreams.

one i used to have night after night for a very long time was i was running and running like mad but not moving my legs felt like i was trying to wade through mud was going through a bad marriage at the time with a nasty piece of work anyway kicked him out finally and the dream stopped never had it again spoke volumes to me personally.

Im bipolar and have the weirdest most realistic dreams ever. Last nights was a doozy, I woke up in my bedroom (like it was real life) and my bedroom walls and ceiling were covered in dust but my DP had written all over every inch of the walls and ceilings with his finger. It was some sort of an alien language I didn't recognise. I went to the toilet, got back into bed and cuddled up to him....it was really warm and smugly but then all of a sudden I realised it was not my husband but actually a wooden bench on its side in his place with the quilt draped over him. I got up in a panic trying to figure out what the hell had happened and noticed two grey and white baby rabbits by my bedroom door.

I woke up in a cold sweat and was quite panicky and irrationally convinced my husband had been stolen by aliens.

HellsBellsAndBatteredBananas · 07/02/2019 10:58

I have also had the recurrent teeth falling out dreams....but my front teeth shatter vertically and come out like splinters or matchsticks, really long and sharp. But my back teeth, its like something is stuck under them and I manage to prise them up but then the others come away in a strip one by one like they are on poppers or attached to those brass upholstery tack strips.

DarlingNikita · 07/02/2019 12:39

Not every night, but I frequently have dreams on the same theme: I’m in a house or other building that I don’t know, usually a large rambling one (I can remember the look of it and the rooms very clearly afterwards, which other people find weird).
There’s usually some time pressure - I’m trying to find a shower or somewhere private to get dressed for an event. Or sometimes I just need to find a loo. I get into a room only to find door doesn’t shut, or the shower isn’t plumbed in, or there’s some other reason I can’t use it, so I just keep walking round and looking for another room.
There are always people I don’t know in all the rooms I go into and there’s a strong feeling of social bewilderment or awkwardness.

They’re quite tiring dreams!

purpleweasel · 07/02/2019 13:27

I have the teeth one, isn't it meant to mean some sort of stress?

I have a lot where I'm trying to get somewhere but I have to do XYZ beforehand, and I almost always never get anywhere. Since I had DD she is almost always with me in dreams.

Dreamt the other night it was Saturday. It wasn't! and I was vaguely disappointed and confused all day!

wheresthepurpleline · 07/02/2019 13:29

IRL I was a community midwife. In my dream I attended a home birth with a colleague. No one but me seemed surprised when the woman gave birth to a baby size goldfish. In my mind's eye I can still see it being swaddled. Bonkers.

Helsvamp · 07/02/2019 13:32

Most of my dreams are about water . Flooding and Saving kids. And lorry's crazing and managing to miss them all

newrubylane · 07/02/2019 13:36

I'm pregnant with twins and I keep dreaming that it turns out to be triplets. Not always the same dream, but always the same extra surprise baby!

DarlingNikita · 07/02/2019 16:24

Oh, I also have a recurring dream theme where I'm hanging out with a man (sometimes a sleb, sometimes someone I know IRL but not in a romantic context, sometimes someone who I don't recognise outside the dream.) There's occasionally saucy stuff going on, but more often it's mild flirting or that sort of tentative 'start of a relationship' thing.

The recurring factor really is the mood, which I can best describe as one of delight and a sort of wonder/gratitude that we've met each other. It's very very romantic. I'm not really like that IRL Grin
