Asking on here because the past 2 weeks I think I have annoyed midwife doctors and 111 more than enough so don't know if this is okay to warrant a call. But after leaving me without antibiotics for a week for my uti I finally got some yesterday (first lot didn't work) Took 2 doses, one lunch one tea time. Still in pain from it. But come 3am I have been sat on the toilet with severe diarrhoea. I mean going every 2 - 5 mins. I ended up sleeping in the toilet as it was easier and it doesn't look like it's stopping. OhHhas gone to work but will go get some water and light snack and take the next tablet when everything halts for a min. But will it get into my system properly if my stomachs that bad? I know to keep hydrated but if there anything else I can do /take because I'm feeling miserable. Am 36 weeks

Which ones are they ? Not sure if you can only take certain ones when preg but the only ones that didn’t give me severe diarhea An sickness were nitrofurantoin, id ask to swap to something else , u shouldn’t have to put up with diarhea x

Was in trimethoprim which made me sick, and asked to be put into nitrofuratoin and they've put me on cefalexin. Just don't know if it's a coincided with a stomach bug or if it's the actual antibiotics making me like this. I'll see how I get on and maybe give docs a call later, probably blocked my number by now lol

The info leaflet says not to take if you have severe diarrhoea. You need to get the gp (or whoever eventually prescribed the antibiotics) involved, I'm afraid.

Thankyou just had a look and it says to call gp if severe diarrhoea as can be a reaction. Now got to wait a call back

@sh13 oh no poor you! I didn't realise they could make you fell this bad a grotty! Doctor called back said stop taking them and wait for my sample to come back on Fri and take it from there. Woukdnt prescribe nitrofuratoin as said it wasn't safe in pregnancy?! Even though midwife said I need to be on that. So got another week of waiting I won't be surprised if I end up in hosp with a kidney infection at this rate its been 3 weeks now
