Not sure what I'm experiencing! Any advise for a FTM please?

Hi all,

I'm 34 weeks along and a FTM. For the last 3/4 days I've been having period type cramping and feeling like I need the toilet (both kinds 🙈).

Today I have a lot of pressure and a few sharp pains in my pelvis and bum, as well as these other symptoms.

I don't feel like I'm necessarily in labour so I don't want to ring delivery suite but I have group B strep so have been told to go into hospital as soon as labour starts to get on the IV antibiotics. How do I know if this is the start of labour? Or just a normal part of pregnancy at this stage?

Any advise appreciated as I'm so confused!

I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you, as these pains could be the beginning or they could fade away, however I'd advise calling just to make sure that you get the appropriate treatment that's needed.

I had this at 34 weeks and it turned out a UTI was causing me to contract. I had to be kept in and on antibiotics so I would definitely get checked. I had no other UTI symptoms other then needing the toilet a lot.

Can you ring your midwife or triage? My hospital were always really nice and keen for you to call, especially in last few weeks. If it's nothing they'll at least be able to reassure you. Hope all is ok for you.
