Has anyone had any experience with this and, if so, what was the outcome? My ds arrived at 29 weeks when my waters suddenly broke. I'd been having braxton hicks, backache etc and had put it down to normal pregnancy symptoms as I wasn't considered high risk. I did have a gut feeljng he'd be early though and even cancelled a work trip because of it (he arrived before I would have even left to go there!).
I'm now 25 weeks with my second baby and have been having strong braxton hicks since 23 weeks. At times they are accompanied by period pain and/or back pain and can get realy regular; every 2-5 mins. I've been into the hospital any time they become sore or regular and they've checked my cervix which is still long and closed. I've also had a ffn test which came back negative; meaning I have a 98% chance of baby not coming for the next 2 weeks. The doctor at the hospitalrecommended I sign off work so I'm taking a few days off just now.
I have a consultant appointment on friday and will of course ask her about it then but, with my history, it's hard not to worry. I haven't actually been diagnosed with IU but, having spoken with my mw, it does seem like the most likely diagnosis.
Has anyone been diagnosed with irritable uterus? What happened? Are there any specific questions I shoupd ask my consultant? How did you tell the difference between IU contractions and early labour? Thanks!
