Movement stopped 25 weeks?

25 weeks and have had movement from 18 weeks (second pregnancy) and I'm just a bit worried as I've not felt anything for over 24 hours. I've tried jiggling, drinking cold drinks but nothing's made him move. I always feel something at night and most mid afternoon as well but nothing today. DH wants me to call the midwife right now but I think I should wait until morning. What should we do? I don't want to make a fuss if there's nothing to make a fuss about. It could just be having a lazy day. Any advice appreciated.

Definitely call. You're not wasting anyone's time. 24 hours with no movement should be checked out imo

Phone right away! It’s not making a fuss, it’s making sure your baby is ok x

Call and get checked over. It's probably nothing to worry about and it will put your mind at rest. Have you tried putting something cold on your bump?

Hi ladies,
Thanks so much for your replies. I did go in and all was fine but she said there's ketones in my urine but didn't explain what that is. Does anyone know what it is or has anyone had it? Whatever it is?

You can get ketones in your urine if you haven't eaten lately? I think it's your body using muscle as energy instead of glucose from food. I think individually it's nothing to worry about, but it can indicate a UTI if other markers like white blood cells and protein are also elevated.

I had raised ketones in labor and they kept making me drink apple juice. Glad everything is ok!

VWpurse · 04/02/2019 02:48

Ketones usually means a breakdown of fat? Are you eating ok? I’m surprised they didn’t give you information.

I'm eating fine and have put on weight in pregnancy (about 6lbs so far), obviously at 1:30 am I hadn't eaten very recently, had diner about 7:30 and just a piece of fruit since then but is that enough of a gap for that to come up in urine?

What did they say about movement? I'm surprised they sent you home when baby hasn't moved in over 24 hours
