Pain at 20 weeks

I’m 20+1 and have had some mild lower back ache pretty much throughout pregnancy but yesterday and today this has been considerably worse and I’ve also had sharp stabbing pain along the bottom and sides of my bump (from googling I think this is round ligament pain, it’s definitely in that area but doesn’t just happen when I move). This got so bad I rang the midwife on Saturday and was told to take paracetamol and call back if it didn’t help, I called back a couple of hours later and spoke to a different midwife who said that as long as I wasn’t bleeding or leaking amniotic fluid, just rest and take painkillers.
The pain eases somewhat when I rest, but is so bad when I stand or walk that I can’t do it for more than a few minutes without almost being in tears due to the pain. I feel like the midwives were a bit meh about it so don’t really want to call them again for the same advice but also genuinely don’t know how I will manage a day at work tomorrow with an uncomfortable desk chair, and a 15 minute walk to the office from where I have to park.
Has anyone else had pain like this, and does anyone have any advice? Is it something my GP could help with?

I am 20+1 today also :)
I have started getting a lot of lower back pain and generally quite achey already..
what your describing doesn't sound like anything concerning (like labour pains) and does sound like ligament pain/muscle aches and twinges.
It may get better it may get worse, so a docs visit may help in regards to pain killers/advice.
Have u thought it could be anything to do with your sleeping position? I know it makes a big difference to me

I would probably see if you could pop to the GP to rule out a UTI.

I had a lot of back and round ligament pain at 20 weeks (now nearly 27) and it did resolve after about a week but always better to err on the side of caution with these things in my view.

Thanks, I actually just got back from a GP appointment where she tested my urine and said it was fine but I have to take in another sample tomorrow morning with my first wee of the day, for them to send to the lab to be certain. She did seem quite surprised the test stick thing she did came back clear, but hopefully it is just regular pain that will settle down soon. She also checked the heartbeat which was all good so that was reassuring as well.
