Hi guys.
Anyone else experiencing pain / sharp pain in the lower back and front? It’s so uncomfortable. Mine is mainly my right side. I’m 22+5 I don’t really feel much movement which is scaring me even more as I am petrifed of loosing this baby. do I ring the hospital? Or wait until tomorrow and ring the midwife. The pain is worse when standing or walking but dull when sitting.

Phone the hospital, that's what they are there for and it will put your mind at rest!

Hope your pains stop soon!

I would definitely ring the hospital now, especially regarding reduced movements, and they'll advise you further.

@Kayleigh121 you’re my due date buddy, I’ve been having the same recently. Strange pains in my back and then a stitch like pain in my lower right hand side, feels like it’s above my hip bone but lower than my belly button.

I did ring the midwife about it last week, she said it sounded like round ligament pain and just the usual pregnancy induced back pain. I’m not telling you not to do anything about it though, if you need to ring the MW, definitely ring!

Are we talking reduced movement or the sporadic movement that you’ve had up until now, I.e movement that is usual for you at this stage. Today is actually the first day I’ve felt the baby move what I would consider regularly and this is my second baby. It’s been VERY sporadic up until now and I can still go several hours without feeling her.

Kayleigh121 · 03/02/2019 15:15

@iswallowtoothpaste yes, exactly that but it’s painful to walk especially coming from my stomach by my lower hip, then when sitting it’s like a niggling pain in my back. I am currently at work so sitting down so may call the MW tomorrow.

Movements - this is my first so not sure what it all is supposed to feel like but the most I have felt is little muscle spasms just below my belly button.. no distinctive movement though. But today I haven’t even really felt that other than when I first got up this morning.
Every I have spoken to have said I should be able to identify movements now as I have a postiror placenta and he’s very active at every scan I have had, but before I got pregnant I was a size 14 so I guess this could be a reason.

Hope all is well with you and little one x

Kidney infection? Do you feel sick? Are you drinking enough?

Kayleigh121 · 03/02/2019 15:30

@abbsisspartacus I never actually thought about that! No sickness no feeling sick and drinking more than enough water each day. But I did have a very slight urine infection 3 weeks ago treated with antibiotics which had no signs because of how weak the infection was. I will call the doctor in the morning to be retested just in case! Thank you

Jesus - why on earth would you wait until the morning.
Leave work and go to the nearest hospital now!
If everything is ok that’s good but your baby is too small to survive on its own yet and you are having signs of premature labour.
Stop putting yourself and your baby at risk and go and get checked out.
I hope everything is ok.
But seriously don’t risk it by leaving it!!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 04/02/2019 10:17

@Kayleigh121, how are you today? Have you managed to get in touch with a midwife and/or been checked over?

Kayleigh121 · 04/02/2019 10:43

@iswallowtoothpaste I called the hospital last night as nobody else was available and they asked me to go in to get checked. Everything is fine they said, didn’t do a scan just listened to heart beat. they have the pains are normal, but because I was in hospital 4 weeks ago with bleeding and the same pain on the left side they want to monitor me and to ensure everything is ok so have a scan on Wednesday along with a follow up from when I was in hospital.

Thank you for asking & thank you to everyone for their responses greatly appreciated!

@Kayleigh121, so pleased you got checked out and even better that they’re doing a follow up!

Redskyandrainbows67 · 04/02/2019 18:14

Really glad everything is good and you are getting follow up.
Make sure they keep an eye on you for pre eclampsia

Kayleigh121 · 04/02/2019 21:11

@Redskyandrainbows67 thank you, they’re going to monitor me for pre eclampsia as my mum had it when she had me but I will mention it again in Wednesday thank you again!
