Rib pain

I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant.

For the last couple of weeks I’ve had a pain in my left side, I’d say the second rib up. It gets better and worse but never goes away. It’s a concentrated pain area not spread out in any way and if I wasn’t sure I couldn’t have done so, I would be utterly convinced I’ve broken my rib it’s so painful. If I feel my ribs it’s not symmetrical with the right side (which feels normal), and there seems to be a lump/bump on the painful side.

Is this just a normal pregnancy thing? If not what the hell have I done to myself?

My ribs hurt when I was heavily pregnant but that was because dd had her foot under them and it was only for a few days. Definitely go to your doctor x

Go see your doc. I've had this too. It can be caused by a few things. Mine is likely to be rib flare- where the ribs have to spread to accommodate a growing uterus, which then irritates the intercostal muscles.

It helps a bit if I sleep (sleep? I've forgotten what that is) on my right side. I'm 35 weeks now and it's eased off somewhat.
