I'm only 4 weeks pregnant but symptoms I have are swore nipples (normal) but Iv got the worst heart palpitations it sometimes frightening. Iv got pcos and have been on metforformin for about 5 days so maybe it's the tablets or is it a normal symptom so early on. This will be my third pregnancy my last 2 pregnancy I had miscarriaged I know I'm very early on I'm trying not to worry or stress but my heart palpitations have me scared. Hopefully this is a symptom and I'm not going mad lol

I would advise any cardiac issues like palpitations should be brought to your GP's attention. They can run a quick ECG to make sure your heart is working as it should, then they will be able to find a cause for the palpitations.

I've never heard of pregnancy itself causing them but a lot of medications can, it could also be rising hormone levels and the medication having a different effect.

No harm in speaking to your GP about it Monday.

I had this early on with my second pregnancy, also terrified me!
Definitely speak with your GP, I had them a few times but nothing after about 8 weeks, then it was horrendous sickness....
Do let your GP know though, the ECG was very reassuring.

I've just turned 5 weeks pregnant and I feel like I have heart palpitations too even though I'm just sitting here. I'm really aware of my heart beating it's so bizarre and if I run up the stairs I go so out of breath like I need to have a moment to get my breathing back to normal.. must just be a weird symptom but it's probably nothing. I'm trying not to worry too much as it will probably make it worse worrying

I get maternal tachycardia when pregnant which results in palpitations and fluttering feelings in the chest. Definitely visit the GP GP to get checked out. I've had many ECGs, a chest x-ray and an ultrasound which were all clear. Scary when you feel your heart racing though!

I had palpitations when I was first pregnant. I think it's something to do with extra blood or something.
