Progesterone low and falling

I'm 4+2 now. My progesterone started low at day 21 and then rose slightly. At 3+6 it fell. My hcg is still rising, although has slowed down to doubling every 54 hours (previously 38 hours and 48 hours). It is only 99 at 4+1.

Progesterone is:
D21 29.3nmol (just over 9ng)
3+1 29.7 (nearly 10ng)
3+6 22.6 (just over 7ng)

This obviously has to be a bad sign. After asking GP to call gynae for a week they eventually did ans gynae said they never give progesterone as there is no evidence.

I'm devastated that I'm now just sitting waiting for miscarriage and there is nothing anyone will do, or I can do to stop it. This will be my third miscarriage and I have an appointments at the recurrent miscarriage clinic in March, but not sure what the point is if we have a cause and they won't treat it...

Honestly, I'd say they're doing a lot!! That's a lot of test to have had within about a week or so. Especially when (on your other thread you've only been ttc for a few months). It took me well over a year of ttc (and several chemicals) for them to lift a finger and run me tests of any kind.

There's conflicting evidence about progesterone support of a natural pregnancy - the MOST likely cause of early miscarriage is chromosomal abnormality. There is nothing that can be done about that. (Not saying hats definitely the issue here, but it's quite rare to be the problem you're thinking about - even though it might be affecting you).

You don't have a definitive cause here. It could very easily be something else that is more common - clotting issues, immune issues, chromosomal issues or a combo.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I think you need to trust the experts on this... im so so so sorry.

I've been trying for 7 months now. This is my third pregnancy in 4 months. I know I can get pregnant that's not why they have been testing. I'm a doctor myself which makes it all the more frustrating as I have too much knowledge in a way. It's just driving me mad that they won't even try it. There is no evidence for progesterone with unexplained recurrent miscarriage. It hasn't been properly studied for the use with women with low progesterone.
