Empty sac at six weeks

I’m looking for some advice / similar experience please.

I miscarried at around five weeks on the 8th December. Found out I was pregnant again on the 6th January. As of Wednesday the hospital were placing me around four weeks, but I think I’m closer to 6.

Due to some minor brown spotting, on Wednesday I had a blood test which showed HCG levels at 20k. Had a scan today which showed an empty sac measuring 14mm. New blood test show HCG levels increased minimally to 22k. I have a scan again in two weeks, but in the meantime just wondered if anyone had any experience of this? I’m feeling like it’s not good news, although did just read that above 6k HCG levels stop doubling every 48hrs and rise more slowly (aware I’m clutching at straws).

Thanks in advance x

Is there any way the hospitals dates could be more accurate? I was one of the fortunate ones who saw something and a HB at 6 weeks but know this isn’t common!

@Tefiti2 possibly, and they have said it a few times. I didn’t have a period between miscarriage and this pregnancy so it’s really hard to date anything. So confusing! X

Try not to worry, hopefully your a bit earlier than you thought and days can make a huge difference to measurements at this stage. I had a scan at 6 weeks and was just a sac private scan 1 1/12 weeks later showed a baby with heartbeat! Fingers crossed for you xx
