To all the mammas out there, did having sex start your labour off?

If so, how many weeks were you, and was it your first, second, third pregnancy etc.?

(I'm still 5 weeks away from my due date, but I'm curious as to whether this method actually works).

It didnt work for me, I had DH tortured lol. I just wrote on another thread I think having acupuncture may have helped kickstart my labour.

No Sad all it did was irritate my cervix and make me bleed!

That being said, I was 37 weeks (almost 39 now) so my body probably wasn’t ready. Too scared to try it again though.

Didn’t work at all for me! Had regular sex from 37w (and before that) and it made no difference. Little one was eventually born at 41+1. I started getting mild contractions in the gym (my waters broke that evening) which was also about 24 hours after being on a trampoline, so either of those might have helped! 😂

Had sex at 9pm then dp went home and I went to sleep. Woke to waters breaking at midnight and ds was born at 2.55 am.
Knocked at neighbour to use her phone and will never forget her drunken bf offering to pop over and mop up!!

I am so sure it worked for me! Had sex at around 4pm when I was 38+5 with my first baby. Then 12 hours later I woke up to my waters breaking and baby was born a few hours later.

Perhaps I would have gone into labour anyway but I was really expecting to be overdue with my first so was very surprised!

Thanks everyone! Might be worth a try anyway! 😁
