Best cloth diapers?

Just wondering if any of you ladies have used cloth diapers?
If so, what were the upsides? Did you use the one with disposable inserts? Why did you pick the brand you did?

If you go to the nappy lady website, there are tons info and if you do the quiz she'll email you back with recommendations etc.

We use lots of different brands depending on day/night.. home or out etc

Used them with all four of my DC. It’s hard to say because different brands work better for different babies so best to buy a selection and see which works best for your baby. I personally love Bambino Mio all in ones but also the two parter pre-fold types with a wrap work well for my 13 week old.

The worst for me have always been Tots Bots, they just leak.

The Nappy Lady is amazing, and there is a really great facebook community too for recommendations etc. Wizard Unos seem to be by far the most popular type

I have used various ones, it’s definitely worth either trying a nappy library or getting a few different ones second hand to try!
I’ve found that I prefer pocket nappies when out and about, because as she has gone from little baby to toddler I can increase the absorbency easily. For nighttime I have only ever used two parters - either tots bots bamboozles or bamboo little lamb/lollipop with a blueberry wrap over the top (double gusset). We have a combination of bumgenius pockets and eBay cheapies (little bloom and Alva). I slightly prefer bumgenius but thanks to the price difference the majority of our stash is little bloom!
We use the disposable liners when out and about - if they are only wet I put them in the nappy bucket, most brands survive a couple of washers - if they have poo then I bin them in a nappy bag. But that is rare because as soon as DD could sit up we used to put her on the potty each morning and now she nearly always poos on the potty, and has done since about 10 months.

I really liked Tots Bots all in ones, and used them with both babies.

I used Bumgenius Freetime for the day time, with the occasional Bambino Mio too. I loved both, but the Bumgenius seemed to be a better fit for my baby.

Nappy Lady was brilliant and advised me to try the Bumgenius for the daytime, and Tots Bots for night time, but we did not get on with those at all. They leaked every time, even with a booster pad. To be fair, our son was a very heavy wetter, so we ended up just using disposables for night time.

Best of luck!

I emailed the Nappylady and got great advice. Will be using old school terry cloths when the time comes as I need to be able to iron my nappies before wearing. Hope they work!
