UTI what else can I do?!

I think it's been brewing for around 2 weeks but assumed it was baby just pushing on bladder but obviously pain got worse and after posting on here 111 sent me up the hospital on Sunday where it was confirmed I have a uti and sent home with Trimethoprim antibiotics for 7 days. The pain, discomfort has gotten worse luckily had midwife yesterday and she said I needed an emergency appointment with the doctor that day and to get a stronger dose on antibiotics as it was showing alot of blood, protein and white blood cells in my urine on her dip test thing. So went to doctors to be told that basically my doctor is in holiday and the other doctor is stretched so I can't be seen but can have a phone call appointment. So doctor calls and says he won't prescribe any other antibiotics till a urine sample is sent off to lab. Fair enough because then they can pin point what bug it is and get rid of it. However at the reception she was very unhelpful and after handing my sample in I said how long will it take and she said a few days I should hear from the doctor next week. I am 36 weeks and am in constant pain, I cannot walk far only a few paces before I need to sit down from the pain or need to wee, I can't go out anywhere as I keep wetting myself or have to be near a toilet . I've been drinking about 2 litres of water a day to try and flush it and been having cranberry juice and the sachets. Having a bath and hot water bottle to try and ease the pain at night, not that I am sleeping because as soon as I get back I need to go again. I am just so tired and fed up of being in pain constantly.is there anything else I can do? Or could the doctors have put through the sample as an urgent one? Because surely making a 36 week pregnant woman wait another week for results and then to start antibiotics isn't good. Judging by how the midwife was talking to me she said it was serious and needed to get sorted that day not make me wait another week

I’d call your midwife again or call your maternity triage if you can’t get hold of her. My understanding is that an untreated UTI can lead to a kidney infection which can be risky in pregnancy

I'd call the MAU too. I had one at 34 weeks and it was dealt with instantly by them. A culture does take a few days but they might start you on another antibiotic quickly.

Call the hospital maternity triage unit.

Just called she said I needed to get on something stronger ASAP. I can't get a doctors appointment till next week so she said call 111 tonight out of hours and get seen. Thanks everyone thought i was just being a nuisance

Drink more to ease the discomfort in the short term-3-4litres. And you can take paracetamol as well if you aren't already. UTIs suck!
