Insomnia in early pregnancy?

Has anyone else had insomnia in early pregnancy? I’m 5 weeks and over the last 4 days I’ve slept 4-6am one night and woke up wide awake at 3.45 on the other 3 nights. I don’t feel tired at all. Pre pregnancy I was the biggest nap queen so this isn’t like me! I’ve heard of extreme fatigue in pregnancy but has anyone else gone the opposite way like me?

Yes, I had this! I did have fatigue most of the time so wanted to sleep but couldn't! I've had good and bad weeks, two weeks ago was horrible- waking up once an hour from 12-6am and then not being able to get back to sleep again. 15 weeks today and I have only been waking up a couple of times a night to wee so things seem to be improving.

I had it from conception to birth. I read a lot of books...

I had this, although not until a bit later. It was horrible - I sympathise! A friend of mine shared some resources from her NCT group which said that even if you're not sleeping, lying down in comfy bed is resting your body, so is still beneficial. I found this took the pressure off a bit, which helped. Wishing you more sleep soon!

Thank you! It's so bizarre! Good to know I'm not alone though, although less so to know that it seems to be ongoing throughout 😂! I think I may invest in a kindle if I don't see any improvement soon!
