Help been hospital hcg level is 1700 but scan didn't show anything at all they said that normal when my hormone levels are that level as it's just on the edge of being able to see anything I have had bleeding but it has slowed down to nothing about a week the bleeding had lasted for, I was just wondering what anyone thinks as I am so worried! Thanks for reading x

I think you should trust what the hospital says. They have said it's all normal and OK. Try and relax and take it easy for now. Do you have another scan booked in a few weeks?

Are they repeating the bloods?

Early pregnancy is really worrying - but honestly there is nothing that can be done either way. Even if it were visible on scan, it would be unlikely to have a heartbeat yet, and I'm sure you find that equally as anxiety inducing... ('reassurance' scans rarely provide people with reassurance). So the best advice I can give you is ask for bloods 48 hours after the first (the HCG should approximately double) and to take each day, each hour, each minute at a time and try not to get too ahead of yourself.

Sorry for all the uncertainty! Best of luck!

The lady who called me with blood results said either it's to early to show on the scan or also could be a ectopic I have had a previous ectopic so I know my risk is increased I am so so worried sick about it

Ask them to repeat bloods 48 hours from the first set.

So sorry OP Thanks

I am so sorry you are going through this. I went through ectopic last year too and I know having a tube/tubes removed so early on in fertility life is heart breaking. Please don't think you can't conceive, ivf as an option is still there! And if you don't have tubes, there is almost no chance of ectopic in the Fallopian tubes.
May I ask, how many weeks are you? I am pregnant again but I do have twinges on my side that has the remaining tube so wondering if I should be alarmed. Good luck!

Glitterandunicorns · 03/02/2019 07:15

I'm so sorry to hear that, OP. Be kind to yourself. Thanks

You are not a failure. Nothing you did lead to this. It's a fluke, a nasty trick of biology - not a sign about you as a person or a woman!!!

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. It's not fair. It's not fair anyone has to go through it, but that doesn't stop it from happening. I highly recommend that you speak to a grief counsellor to help you sort through your feelings, now or when the dust has settled a bit.

Above all, do things that make you feel good and please take care.

IVF is harder but was for people like you (rather than those who left it too late imho) talk to your gp about a referral they will be very understanding.
