Hi all. Im currently 8 and a half weeks pregnant. I feel dreadful! Been vomiting all day/night since week 4!! Huge acid reflux attacks too and just generally drained. My motivation is zero and i feel like im neglecting my 3 year old daughter. We havent told her i am expecting yet as i thinj its alot to take in and a long wait for her until the new arrival. I used to go out daily and do things and i was always playing/drawing/painting/play doh etc with her all the time. Now i just want to curl up on the sofa and cry so shes not getting the attention she is used to. Any tips/advice for sickness? Ginger does nothing. Also tips on interactions with my daughter without over doing it. I do play dates and she does go to pre school 3 days a week when i work but im always running off to vomit and rubbish company for anyone!! Just a mother in need of some heartwarming words 💜

You poor thing! I had sickness the whole way through and wanted to cry every time someone suggested ginger! I found McDonald’s thick shakes helpful for sickness!

Here’s what I did - I also had a 3 year old.
I got signed off work for a month. I get full pay so obviously that helped but I couldn’t have gone in anyway. I was 7 weeks and the nausea was so bad I couldn’t think of anything else. The dr also prescribed stemetil tablets which I took when I needed to. On the days my little one was at preschool 3 days a week like you, I stayed in bed and slept! The nausea and sickness is always worse if you’re tired. On the weekend my husband had to run the show. On the other two says I somehow just managed. Can you take her to a cafe or McDonald’s just to break the day up? She’ll enjoy just being out the house. Lots of dvds and films and jigsaws too. Good luck and congratulations x

Thankyou ladies. We sat and did painting today. Shes being an absolute superstar but the guilt is killing me i dont want her to feel pushed to one side. The smell of any food sets of my sickness when im out so i cant do any cafes etc just yet! I think i may have to be signed off work. Im feeling quite despressed as im not myself. I was poorly in my laat pregnancy but only from weeks 12-16 so this one has started really early on. Not seen a midwife yet waiting for an appointment. Will chat to them about my feelings as my OH is getting worried. Thanks again appreciate the replies x

Hi, I'm 10 weeks with terrible constant sickness and been in and out of hospital with ibs-d too. Have not enjoyed a moment of pregnancy so far so I really feel for you. All I can advise is to work out what works for you. Consider time off work if you must. I just got 2 weeks off.

I would see your GP ASAP to be honest, that sounds awful and you may well need medication as well as some time off work.

I hope you feel better soon.

I was 8 weeks around Christmas and I was completely usless 😂 8-10 weeks I was at my worst and ended up in hospital over new year. Maybe see ur gp I was put on medication and it has really helped. I'm 14 weeks now.. still feel sick 24/7 but it's manageable.. most the time. Hope u start feeling better soon

I feel for you, I had sickness until 20 wks. It makes you so miserable. I tried anti sickness wrist bands they worked ok. I decided not to go to the doctors as I just didn’t want to take anything for it. Can both of you curl up on the sofa & have dvd days. Have you told her mummy just isn’t well at the moment but your ok. Just so she knows what’s going on x

Vitamin B gummies! Or I'm sure any vitamin B complex pill. Took away the nausea for me.
