Less movement

I’m 39 weeks pregnant with twins, in fact I’m being induced on Friday, it was going to be tomorrow but we’ve had to reschedule. This is my second pregnancy and when I was pregnant with my daughter she was very active right up until the end of the pregnancy but that’s not the case this time. These photos show how active they were when I was 29 weeks but I do not experience this kind of movement now. I still feel them just not to this extent. Should I be concerned or could it be because they have less room as that’s what I’ve been telling myself as my bump is really large and hard now??

My ds moved all the time up until I was induced but I've no experience of a twin pregnancy.Id ring the midwife number at your hospital and ask advice

I'm 39'as well and due to go in on Friday. Have felt reduced movement and have been checked at the hospital. Still doesn't stop you from worrying.
Good luck!

Contact your midwife and get checked. Probably they are fine but don't gamble.

Bramble88 · 29/01/2019 17:37

I would contact the midwife just to be sure!

I'd ring someone too. I was told it's a myth that babies movements decrease towards the end. My 2nd baby did slow down towards the end and is fairly laid back. My first was a wiggle bum right until the end.

These questions really bug me, all through pregnancy you are told to monitor movements and ANY changes to contact your midwife..
How can anyone on a website put your mind at ease?
You know what you should be doing
Good luck with your twins

JamilaJ · 29/01/2019 18:49

@Bigonesmallone3 if it bugs you then you don’t have to comment. I have contacted my midwife and she said that although she’s sure everything is fine to come in tomorrow just to be sure. But in the meantime this could actually put my mind at ease if people who have experienced this tell me it’s fine.

Hi OP - I don’t have experience with twins but like yourself my baby was super active around 28-29 weeks and then it changed around 32 weeks. My movements hadn’t reduced as such, they just felt very different. Almost like he was constantly stretching or twitching rather than strong kicks. My midwife said it was perfectly normal for the movements to change as the weeks go on, they just shouldn’t reduce in frequency x

I agree with previous post, mine have changed a few times but I think based on baby's position. Though a decrease I would probably ring about.

How’d it go?
