I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and I'm struggling with work. I work in a nursery so it's a pretty full on job with long hours. I have 12 weeks till I'm on annual leave thank god but they seem to be taking forever! My manager isn't the most supportive either, demanding I go in when I phone in sick or sleep deprived, any advice?

Your boss can't force you to go in if you are off due to health/illness in pregnancy. There are discrimination laws against this.

If you're feeling really rubbish maybe a visit to GP to get a sick note for a week or two may help? Again, your employer cannot discriminate against you due to this.

Look after yourself x

I visited my GP last week how I'm struggling with pregnancy insomnia and stress at work and she's suggested I either ask to spread my hours out over the week or decrease my hours from 26 weeks so it won't effect my maternity pay. Hopefully my manager will do this for me. I know she has a business to run but I've got to think of myself and the baby. 💛

Absolutely! If you can't carry on this way until 26 weeks go back to the GP and see if you can have a sick note to get you that far. Then you can reduce hours and hopefully that will be enough.

Bosses do have a business to run but part of that is being aware that people have babies and making allowances for that. You're right to put yourself first x

Thank you, I'll see how the rest of the week goes x
