34+4 feeling some movement but not as much

As above I'm 34+4 and normally I get Lots of hard kicks and movements throughout the day but for the last 3 days it's been very minimal. My mum says as long as she is moving then it's fine as she's running out of space but I'm just worried and anxious. Should I just pop over to the maternity unit? It's only about 10 minutes away by car but I don't want them to think I'm a drama queen

Yes. Go to mat unit. They would rather check and all be fine than miss something. Any change in pattern should be checked. It's a myth they run out of room. They should follow Thier own pattern up til the end. 💐💐 Sure all is fine but get checked.

They won’t think you are a drama queen. Go and get checked out, and ignore your mum’s incorrect advice. I hope all is ok.

Buddytheelf85 · 28/01/2019 17:24

Definitely go. They definitely won’t think you’re a drama queen! My trust gives women a number to call if they’re concerned about reduced movements after 26 weeks, does yours have anything like that?

itallhappensforareason · 28/01/2019 17:25

Yes please please please get checked out. Movements shouldn't decrease at all.

Shantotto · 28/01/2019 17:27

Yeah definitely go! I saw my midwife the other day and I find it hard to track movements as my placenta at the front and she is very lazy so hardly moves at all. But hardly moving is my normal movement pattern so that’s ok - it’s when that changes.
She told me to go anytime, they would rather you went to be checked and it was fine than not go at all.

FinallyMrsE · 28/01/2019 17:27

Go. Go as many times as you need for reduced movements. Nobody will think you are a drama queen on the 1st or 10th visit.

Hopefully all will be well but get checked to be sure

Yeah please do go in not worth the risk

CleverWittyUsername · 28/01/2019 17:51

Definitely ring your Triage or ward, they will never think it's a waste of time and always rather you get reassurance. Babies don't run out of room. See Kicks Count site or fb for more info, they work hard to dispel that myth.

Been out to maternity assessment and home again feeling reassured. Everything looks fine on the monitor and it even picked up her hiccups which was nice to hear as my placenta is at the front too so it does mask a lot of her movements and only really feel them on the left side. Mum came out with me as partner is at work and she got a bit of a telling off for saying it would be ok along as I've felt her move. They have told me never to wait as long ad they never think any mum is a drama queen when it comes down to movements

Thank goodness everything is ok, glad you got checked.

CleverWittyUsername · 28/01/2019 20:19

Glad everything is ok. It's hard with an anterior placenta! They used to say to me drink ice cold water or have something fizzy/sugary and lie on my side, if 20 mins passes and nothing happening then to ring up and come in.
